Overview of the Senior Associate - Corporate role

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working with a leading regional law firm as they look to appoint a Senior Associate / Principal Associate to join their highly regarded Corporate team in Leicester.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful and growing Corporate team, undertaking a broad spectrum of high-quality corporate work, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and group restructurings.

The team is recognised by The Legal 500 and acts for a diverse client base, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, national organisations and international clients. This role offers excellent opportunities for career development, exposure to high-profile transactions and the chance to work alongside experienced corporate lawyers in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Associate role will include:

  • Advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.

  • Managing transactions from inception through to completion.

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships as a trusted adviser.

  • Working collaboratively with Partners and colleagues across the Corporate team.

  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.

  • Contributing to business development initiatives and client relationship activities.

  • Delivering commercially focused legal advice to clients across a range of sectors.

  • Assisting with complex national and international corporate transactions.

Required experience of the Senior Associate position will include:

  • Qualified Solicitor with significant Corporate Law experience gained within a recognised corporate practice.

  • Strong technical expertise in M&A, private equity transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and project management skills.

  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional client service.

  • Strong commercial awareness and business development capabilities.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team environment.

  • Experience managing multiple transactions and competing priorities.

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to client work.
