Salary: £50,000 + performance related bonus (up to £50,000)
Hybrid: Hybrid, office presence required

Sellick Partnership are working with a well-established, high-value SME operating within a specialist and premium sector, which is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and evolve its finance function.

This is a Financial Controller role offering a clear and achievable route into a Finance Director position within the next 12 to 24 months. The position has arisen due to a recent change within the team, creating an opportunity for someone to step in and take ownership of the finance function while driving improvement and change.

You will be joining at a key stage of the company's growth, with the chance to build a more commercially focused finance function that will support the business through its next phase and longer-term strategic objectives.

The responsibilities of the Financial Controller will be:

• Leading the day-to-day running of the finance function while strengthening processes, systems and controls
• Delivering accurate and meaningful financial information to support strategic decision making
• Partnering with senior leadership to provide insight on performance and key business drivers
• Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency
• Driving improvements across reporting, controls and financial governance
• Supporting longer-term business planning, including preparation for a potential exit
• Managing and developing finance activities within a lean, fast-moving environment
• Helping shape a finance function that can scale with the business as it grows

The ideal candidate for the Financial Controller role will have:

• A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience operating at the Financial Controller level or as a senior finance professional ready to step up
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business
• A background within SMEs, owner managed or growing organisations
• A proactive and hands on approach, with a focus on continuous improvement
• The ambition and capability to progress to Finance Director in the near future
• The ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving and high-impact role
