Fire Safety Lead

Suffolk, East Anglia - flexible working available

Permanent, Up to £53,460 per annum

Sellick Partnership is proud to support an organisation based in Suffolk, with the recruitment of a Fire Safety Manager on a permanent basis to join their Housing division.

The position sits within a large, well‑resourced Maintenance and Contracts service responsible for repairing, maintaining and improving around homes and sheltered housing schemes in the local area.

Key responsibilities of the Fire Safety and Compliance Lead include:

  • Leading fire safety compliance across all housing assets, ensuring full adherence to fire legislation and regulatory standards.
  • Acting as the organisations principal fire safety expert and Duty Holder.
  • Managing fire risk assessments, safety checks, inspections, testing and maintenance programmes.
  • Developing and implementing fire strategies for different building types.
  • Managing a Fire Safety Surveyor, including workload planning and professional development.
  • Overseeing major fire safety improvement programmes and providing fire engineering advice.
  • Working closely with internal teams, external partners and the Fire & Rescue Service.
  • Managing budgets, contracts and consultancy support.
  • Ensuring accurate fire safety records and maintaining the "Golden Thread" of information.

Experience and skills we are looking for in a Fire Safety and Compliance lead:

  • Strong background in managing fire safety within residential or housing environments.
  • Expert knowledge of fire safety legislation and proven ability to assess and manage fire risk
  • Relevant professional qualifications, with IFE or NEBOSH Fire Safety qualifications desirable
