Health and Safety Manager

Location: Regional role covering Kent, Surrey & Sussex (South East)

Contract: Interim - initial 3 months

Start: Immediate

Pay: Agenda for Change Band 7 (agency payroll / charge card)
£49,387 - £56,515 per annum equivalent, dependent on experience £28.38 Hourly (Umbrella)

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Travel: Multi‑site travel required; expenses paid in line with AfC

Sellick Partnership are supporting an NHS Trust with the appointment of an Interim Health & Safety Manager to provide immediate operational and strategic leadership across a large, multi‑site healthcare environment.

This is a hands‑on interim post with responsibility for ensuring statutory compliance, effective incident management, and continuity of Health & Safety governance during a period of increased operational demand.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as the organisation's competent person for Health & Safety
  • Leading Health & Safety compliance across multiple sites and services
  • Managing incident reporting, investigation and learning, including RIDDOR
  • Risk assessments, audits and contribution to the Health & Safety risk register
  • Data analysis, reporting and assurance to senior stakeholders
  • Policy review and liaison with regulators and external bodies
  • Supporting and embedding a positive safety culture across operational teams

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH (or equivalent) with a strong professional Health & Safety background
  • CMIOSH or working towards Chartered status
  • Proven Health & Safety experience within the NHS or a complex healthcare setting
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • Confident engaging with senior leaders and operating independently at pace
