I'm currently working with a national, Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked law firm that is looking to recruit a Disrepair Solicitor into its highly regarded Housing Management team, following continued growth and success.
This team has expanded significantly over the past decade and is now one of the firm's fastest-growing practice areas, acting for Registered Providers and Local Authorities nationwide. They are regularly appointed to some of the largest national and regional frameworks and are well known in the sector for their success defending claims at trial.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with housing disrepair experience to take ownership of a litigated caseload, working on high-quality matters for social landlords.
The role will involve:
Managing your own caseload of litigated housing conditions (disrepair) claims
Defending claims on behalf of Registered Providers and Local Authorities
Drafting Defences, witness statements, and preparing matters for trial
Handling claims from pre-litigation through to trial
Working as part of a well-established and supportive specialist team
Due to the team's strong track record at trial, there has been a steady influx of new instructions, making this an exciting time to join.
Previous experience within a Social Housing or Housing Management team
Experience defending disrepair claims for Registered Providers and/or Local Authorities
A proven ability to run cases to trial
A genuine interest in the social housing sector
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to manage a varied caseload and work effectively as part of a team
Advocacy experience is advantageous, but not essential
Join a nationally respected firm with a strong reputation in housing law
Work within a top-ranked, growing team with excellent quality instructions
Flexible working environment, empowering you to work where you do your best work (1 day a week in the office)
Strong focus on work-life balance, wellbeing, and long-term career development
Supportive culture with comprehensive learning and development programmes
A firm that genuinely values its people and promotes from within
If you're a Housing Disrepair Solicitor looking to join a firm where you can develop your expertise, feel supported, and work on high-quality matters, I'd be very happy to discuss this role in more detail.
