Overview of the ICT Project Delivery Officer position

Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with Cardiff City Council who are looking to recruit an ICT Project Delivery Officer to join their busy and expanding ICT and Infrastructure team on a permanent, full time basis. Although the council offices are based in Cardiff, the council are happy to discuss and negotiate flexible, hybrid working arrangements and encourage a healthy work-life balance.

Key responsibilities of the ICT Project Delivery Officer 

  • Lead the design and delivery of ICT infrastructure for new school builds, refurbishments and asset renewal programmes
  • Manage relationships with Council teams, schools, stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to ensure successful project and service delivery
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on ICT requirements, procurement and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee contracts, suppliers and service agreements, ensuring value for money and improved service levels
  • Manage operational ICT services, including Service Desk incidents, SLAs, performance reporting and continuous service improvement
  • Develop and maintain ICT service plans, policies and standards, ensuring compliance with statutory, corporate and health and safety requirements


Experience required for the ICT Project Delivery Officer

  • Practical understanding of user experience and requirements analysis, with the ability to identify user objectives and define appropriate solutions and resources
  • Experience in creating, implementing and managing service level agreements with suppliers and contractors, with a focus on continuous service improvement
  • Proven track record in project management, ensuring effective planning and successful delivery of solutions
  • Experience in developing and presenting business proposals, including business cases and statements of requirements, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrable experience managing customer and supplier relationships, resolving issues and improving satisfaction where challenges arise
