We are working with a leading international law firm who are seeking a Legal Team Leader to join their Newcastle Legal Services Team.

You will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a large paralegal team, combining operational management, mentorship, and strategic input, while also contributing to client relationships, legal innovation, and business development initiatives across a global network.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working closely with senior leadership to ensure the smooth day-to-day running and continued growth of the Legal Services Team
  • Managing, supervising and mentoring a large population of paralegals, ensuring high performance and professional development
  • Overseeing workflow allocation, resource planning and incoming instructions to optimise productivity and client service delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while supporting business development initiatives
  • Driving operational excellence, including compliance, financial performance, and quality assurance across all workstreams
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of team members

About you:

  • Experienced in managing and supervising junior legal professionals within a corporate or commercial environment
  • Strong client focus with a proven commitment to delivering high-quality legal services
  • Commercially aware with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, international setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop large teams
  • Ideally a qualified solicitor with an international commercial background (private practice or in-house), but will consider non-qualified candidates with a suitable background.
