Employment Law Solicitor (NQ-3 PQE)

Location: Chester & Altrincham

Salary: £46,000

We are working with a highly regarded, independent law firm seeking a Newly Qualified to 3 PQE Employment Law Solicitor to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work directly alongside experienced Employment Partners from day one, advising on complex, high-value employment matters for a sophisticated client base more commonly associated with large national firms.

The role is ideal for someone who wants early responsibility, meaningful client exposure, and high-quality work, but within a supportive environment that avoids the unsustainable pressures often seen in larger city practices.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your own caseload, while benefiting from close partner-led support designed to accelerate your development and progression.

What you'll be doing

You will work across a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:

  • Advising employers and senior individuals on complex employment issues
  • Supporting partners on high-value, strategically important cases
  • Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Working closely with partners on client strategy and delivery
  • Contributing to business development and building your professional profile

What sets this role apart

Partner-led from day one

You'll work directly with partners from the outset, gaining early exposure to senior decision-making and client interaction.

About you

We are looking for a technically strong, commercially minded solicitor who is motivated to develop within a high-performing team.

You will:

  • Be NQ to 3 years PQE
  • Have experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law
  • Be confident managing your own matters and working to deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong client care and communication skills
  • Take a proactive, commercially aware approach to your work
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Show an interest in business development and profile-building

The team

The Employment team is highly regarded and recognised in The Legal 500, advising a sophisticated client base across a wide range of employment matters.

You'll join a close-knit, collaborative, and high-performing team led by an experienced Head of Employment, who brings strong advocacy experience and expertise across both contentious and non-contentious work.

About the firm

As a proudly independent practice, it is known for its partner-led approach, long-term client relationships, and ability to handle complex, bespoke work to a consistently high standard.

The firm's lawyers are trusted to think commercially, act decisively, and focus on delivering the right outcomes for clients.

There is a strong emphasis on ownership, development, and building meaningful client relationships at all levels.

Benefits include:

  • Minimum 5 weeks' annual leave
  • Paid Volunteer Day
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • Healthcare scheme
  • Death in service (4x salary)
  • Supported parking scheme
  • Flexible and supportive working environment
  • Strong focus on long-term career development

Culture

The culture is built around collaboration, trust, and high performance, with a strong emphasis on development and support.

The internal ethos is focused on delivering excellent work while ensuring individuals are trusted, developed, and given space to grow.
