Overview of the Property Lawyer position

Sellick Partnership are pleased to be currently recruiting a Property Lawyer to join a busy but friendly London Council. Our client is looking for a Property Lawyer who has experience dealing with a variety of both residential and commercial property to join their team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is on a hybrid working basis, with a preference for one to two day per week in the office, our client is ideally seeking someone who is able to work full-time hours. This role is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified property lawyer who is looking to further their career in collaborative team who get a really interesting variety of work.

Key responsibilities of the Property Lawyer

  • Dealing with a variety of residential and commercial property work including:
  • Right to Buy's
  • Disposals and acquisitions
  • Lease extensions
  • Section 42's
  • Leasehold management transactions
  • Matters relating to housing development projects
  • Dependant on experience, taking on a more complex caseload and assisting withs supervision of the more junior members of the team
  • To advise and have conduct of legal files on behalf of all the clients of the council, including local authorities, housing associations and schools
  • To deputise for others in more senior positions as and when required

Experience/qualifications required for the Property Lawyer position

  • Must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx) with a current practicing certificate - all PQE levels will be considered
  • Able to work on a hybrid basis one day per week in the office
  • This role requires someone who is able to work full-time, part-time requests will be considered
  • You must have strong experience in property law ideally from local authority but candidates from other sectors are encouraged to apply
