Job Title: Rent Accounting Assistant

Salary: Up to 35'000

Sellick Partnership are seeking a Rent Accounting Assistant to support the effective management and collection of rental income across a housing portfolio. This is a customer‑focused role, playing a key part in helping tenants sustain their tenancies while ensuring rent accounts are accurate and well managed.

Working as part of a supportive rents finance team, the Rent Accounting Assistant will deal with rent enquiries, assist with arrears management activity, and work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to promote financial inclusion and positive tenant outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of the Rent Accounting Assistant:

  • Support the day‑to‑day management of rent accounts, ensuring rental income is accurately recorded and monitored
  • Act as a first point of contact for tenant enquiries relating to rent, payments, and arrears
  • Assist with early intervention activity on arrears cases, signposting tenants to appropriate support where required
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes, ensuring systems are kept up to date
  • Provide clear, friendly communication to tenants, keeping them informed of progress and next steps
  • Work closely with colleagues in housing management, benefits, and tenancy support to help sustain tenancies
  • Support financial inclusion initiatives, including promoting access to benefits, budgeting support, and digital services

Ideal Profile for the Rent Accounting Assistant:

  • Previous experience in a rent accounting, income, financial administration or Credit Control
  • Confidence in dealing with customers, including sensitive or occasionally challenging conversations
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload
  • A positive, professional approach and willingness to learn
