Tax & Trust Executive

Manchester (preferred) | Birmingham also considered

I'm currently working with a highly regarded, award-winning Private Client team who are looking to appoint a Tax & Trust Executive to join their growing trust management function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a basic understanding of tax and trusts who is looking to develop their career within a respected national practice, working on a varied and often complex portfolio of trust and estate matters.

The Role

You'll be joining a specialist Private Client team that advises wealthy families, business owners, landowners and charities on a wide range of trust, estate and tax matters. The role offers exposure to high-value and complex trusts, with excellent support and long-term progression.

While Manchester is the preferred location (due to the Trust Manager being based there), Birmingham-based candidates will also be considered.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Trust administration and ongoing management

  • Preparing trust accounts and maintaining accounting records

  • Completing trust tax returns and HMRC filings

  • Estate and probate administration support

  • Liaising with banks, investment managers and third parties

  • Corresponding with beneficiaries and arranging payments

  • Running files under supervision

About You

  • Some experience or understanding of tax and/or trusts (experience is advantageous but not essential)

  • Background in accountancy or law would suit this role well

  • Familiarity with basic accounts or double-entry bookkeeping is beneficial

  • STEP qualified or working towards STEP is desirable but not required

  • Keen to learn, develop, and progress within a specialist Private Client environment

Why Apply?

  • Join a nationally recognised Private Client team

  • Exposure to high-quality, complex work

  • Strong support, training and long-term career development

  • Friendly, collaborative culture with excellent retention

  • Opportunity to build specialist expertise in trust administration
