Role: Business Support Officer
Location: Oldbury (office-based)
Type: Fixed-term 4-6 months (with potential extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Band C - £13.00-£14.00 per hour (PAYE), depending on experience

A public sector organisation is supporting the recruitment of a Business Support Officer to join its business support team on a fixed-term basis, with the potential for the contract to be extended subject to funding.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in a business support or administrative position, who is comfortable working in a structured public sector environment and supporting frontline practitioners with accurate and timely administration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency of information across systems
  • Updating the ChildView system
  • Supporting Youth Justice Service workers with system updates to meet KPI recording requirements
  • Prioritising incoming post and messages and alerting officers and practitioners to matters requiring attention
  • Maintaining files and record systems, including scanning and uploading documents
  • Ensuring allocated tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales

Key skills:

  • Previous experience working in a business administration or support role
  • NVQ Level 1 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience of ChildView / YJS systems would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, organise diaries and manage priorities
  • A standard DBS check will be required for this role
