Permanent Commercial Contracts Lawyer

Salary: £48,226 - £51,356

Hours: 37 hours a week (part time applicants considered)

I am delighted to be partnering with a Local Authority to recruit an experienced permanent commercial contracts and procurement lawyer to their in-house legal services team.

This role focuses entirely on contracts law. You will managing cases autonomously, as part of a stable and supportive wider team. Your caseload will consist of all areas of commercial contracts (e.g. contracts for works, services, supplies and concessions, grant funding agreements), public procurement law and procedure. In addition, you will provide legal advice to client departments, contribute to strategic advice and policy development under supervision, and help colleagues and service areas understand the implications of new legislation and case law.

I am seeking candidates with a thorough knowledge of the law relating to commercial contracts and public procurement. You must be an effective communicator, with accuracy and attention to detail, and an ability to write and present lucid reports.

I am looking for candidates with experience in contracts law and legal work, strong drafting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, client departments, and external partners. You must be customer-focused, with a commitment to service improvement and professional development.

I welcome applications from those with experience in local government, the public sector, or private practice, as well as from less experienced lawyers who are keen to learn.
