Construction Associate (3+ PQE)
Location: Manchester

The Role
We are recruiting a Construction Associate (3+ PQE) to join a growing non-contentious Construction & Engineering team. This is a standout opportunity to advise on high-value development, infrastructure, and energy projects, while enjoying strong client exposure, responsibility, and clear progression.

About the Team
The team advises a wide range of clients, including:

  • Developers and investors

  • Contractors and consultants

  • Funders and financial institutions

  • Public sector bodies and utilities

The work includes major infrastructure, energy, and real estate projects-covering procurement, contract negotiation, project execution, and risk management.

What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
* Advise on non-contentious construction matters, drafting and negotiating key project documents
* Work with JCT, NEC and bespoke construction contracts, appointments and collateral warranties
* Support clients on procurement strategy, risk allocation and project delivery
* Collaborate with colleagues across real estate, finance, corporate and regulatory teams
* Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development
* Support and mentor junior lawyers, contributing to a positive team culture
* Engage with structured training and development opportunities

What We're Looking For
* 3+ years' PQE with non-contentious construction experience
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills across standard form and bespoke contracts
* Experience advising on development, infrastructure or energy projects
* Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills
* Commercial awareness with a practical and solutions-driven mindset
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
* Collaborative and supportive, with an interest in mentoring others
