Hybrid: Ideally 3 days a week onsite

Sellick Partnership is partnering with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Contracts Commercial Lead on an interim basis. This is a senior, delivery-focused role supporting a wider transformation programme, with a clear remit to improve commercial outcomes, strengthen contract governance, and drive value for money across a complex contract portfolio.

The responsibilities of the Contracts Commercial Lead will be:

  • Reviewing priority contracts to identify opportunities for commercial improvement, cost efficiencies, and enhanced supplier performance
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure improved financial and contractual outcomes while protecting service delivery
  • Prioritising activity across high-value and strategically important contracts to maximise short- and medium-term benefits
  • Working closely with finance, procurement, legal, and operational stakeholders to enhance contract management approaches
  • Introducing improved commercial models, pricing mechanisms, and incentives to support sustainable value
  • Establishing robust governance, reporting, and tracking of savings and benefits for senior stakeholders
  • Sharing commercial best practice and supporting capability building across contract management teams

The ideal candidate for the Contracts Commercial Lead role will have:

  • A strong track record of delivering tangible contract savings and improved commercial terms within Public Sector environments
  • Advanced commercial and financial analysis skills, including the ability to interrogate spend and cost drivers
  • Extensive experience leading supplier negotiations in high-value or sensitive settings
  • A solid understanding of public sector procurement and contract governance frameworks
  • The ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders and work at pace in an interim capacity
  • Clear and confident communication skills, particularly when presenting commercial outcomes and trade-offs
