Overview of the Court of Protection Paralegal role

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Court of Protection Paralegal to join a highly regarded Court of Protection team based in Wolverhampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting vulnerable clients and helping them manage their financial and welfare affairs with dignity, care and professionalism.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team, working on a varied caseload while developing specialist expertise in Court of Protection matters.

Key responsibilities of the Court of Protection Paralegal will include:

  • Assisting with the management of financial and welfare matters under the Court of Protection
  • Providing long-term, person-centred support to vulnerable clients
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, their families and external professionals
  • Supporting the preparation and administration of Court of Protection applications and ongoing case management
  • Managing client correspondence and maintaining accurate case records
  • Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure clients receive the appropriate support
  • Providing high levels of client care while ensuring matters are progressed efficiently

Required experience/qualifications of the Court of Protection Paralegal position will include:

  • Previous Court of Protection experience is essential
  • Experience supporting vulnerable clients in a legal environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate, patient and empathetic approach to client care
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
  • A proactive approach and a genuine passion for helping others
