Overview of the Court of Protection Solicitor role

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed Court of Protection Solicitor to join a highly regarded Court of Protection team based in Wolverhampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable clients with the management of their financial and welfare affairs, providing trusted legal advice and building long-term relationships that make a genuine difference to their lives.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive team, working on a varied caseload while developing specialist expertise in Court of Protection matters within an environment that values empathy, professionalism and exceptional client care.

Key responsibilities of the Court of Protection Solicitor will include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters
  • Advising clients on financial and welfare matters under the Court of Protection
  • Preparing and progressing Court of Protection applications and ongoing deputyship matters
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, families, deputies and external professionals
  • Liaising with local authorities, healthcare professionals and other third parties to ensure the best outcomes for clients
  • Managing client affairs with sensitivity, professionalism and attention to detail
  • Providing exceptional client care while ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements

Required experience/qualifications of the Court of Protection Solicitor position will include:

  • Qualified Solicitor with previous Court of Protection experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of Court of Protection procedures and deputyship matters
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A compassionate, patient and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable clients
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to client service
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and delivering outstanding legal advice
