Overview of the Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer position:
Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working with the Crown Prosecution Service to recruit multiple lawyers/solicitors and barristers into their busy legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals that are newly qualified but are looking to progress within criminal law into a prosecution's role. The Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer (also known as a Crown Prosecutor) is an entry‑level legal position, well‑suited to newly qualified lawyers or those without prior experience in criminal law.
The Crown Prosecution Service is open to locations dependent on the candidate, and are happy for you to be based in one of the following: Birmingham, Brighton and Hove, Bristol, Cambridge, Canterbury, Cardiff, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Eastleigh, Exeter, Guildford, Hull, Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester, Lincoln, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Mold, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northampton, Norwich, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Preston, Reading, Sheffield, St Albans, Stoke-on-Trent, Swansea, Swindon, Truro. *Please note for Wessex - Offices are based in Eastleigh, Portsmouth or Swindon and deployment will be to all courts in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire/Isle of Wight*
In this role, you will receive a structured induction, a four‑month training programme, and opportunities to shadow colleagues across the organisation. As you build your experience, you'll have clear pathways for progression, including advancement into senior and managerial positions.
