Managing Associate - Employment Lawyer (5+ PQE)
Location: Leeds

The Role
We are recruiting a Managing Associate - Employment Lawyer (5+ PQE) to join a highly regarded Employment team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advising major employers across a range of sectors, with responsibility, client contact, and clear progression to senior leadership roles.

About the Team
The team supports a broad range of clients across sectors such as financial services, retail, transport, energy, manufacturing, and the public sector. The work includes strategic advisory mandates, sensitive disputes, HR project delivery, and complex workforce change.

Typical matters include:

  • Employment tribunal litigation

  • Business restructuring, redundancy and TUPE

  • Senior exits, whistleblowing and discrimination issues

  • Industrial relations and trade union matters

  • Employment aspects of corporate and outsourcing transactions

What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
* Advise on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
* Lead complex client relationships and act as a key point of contact
* Work on major restructuring projects, tribunal claims, and strategic HR issues
* Draft and negotiate settlement agreements, contracts, policies and HR documentation
* Support business development initiatives and help grow client accounts
* Lead on mentoring and supporting junior team members
* Engage with leadership, training and development programmes

What We're Looking For
* 5+ years' PQE in employment law with experience across contentious and advisory work
* Strong technical skills and excellent drafting ability
* Experience handling tribunal litigation and advisory projects such as TUPE, restructuring, and senior exits
* Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build trusted long-term relationships
* Commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused approach
* Organised, proactive and confident managing multiple matters
* A collaborative mindset with an interest in mentoring and supporting others
