Head of Commercial Property

We are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to lead and develop a Commercial Property department based in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer to take on a strategic role with genuine leadership responsibility and strong progression prospects.

The Role:
You will oversee and grow the Commercial Property team while managing a varied and high-quality caseload. Work will include:

• Advising on commercial acquisitions and disposals

• Acting on freehold and leasehold transactions, including landlord and tenant work

• Drafting and negotiating leases, licences, and development agreements

• Advising on portfolio management, land development, and refinancing

• Managing and mentoring junior team members

• Driving business development initiatives and helping grow the department

About You:

• Qualified Solicitor, ideally 6+ years PQE (or equivalent experience)

• Strong technical background in commercial property transactions

• Experience handling a broad range of work, including landlord and tenant, development, and corporate support

• Leadership or supervisory experience (or a desire to step into such a role)

• Client-focused, commercially aware, and confident in building relationships

• Able to take an active role in developing the team and service offering
