Overview of the Property Litigation Solicitor role

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working with a top-tier law firm as they look to appoint a Property Litigation Solicitor to join their highly regarded Birmingham office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with at least 1+ years' post-qualification experience (PQE) to join a supportive and collaborative team handling a broad range of property litigation matters. Depending on your level of experience, you will work alongside senior lawyers on more complex disputes whilst also managing your own caseload independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of property litigation matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, possession claims, lease renewals, dilapidations, trespass matters, boundary disputes and property-related contractual disputes.

  • Support senior members of the team on complex and high-value property litigation matters.

  • Provide clients with practical, commercially focused legal advice and maintain the highest standards of client care.

  • Demonstrate strong financial management and commercial awareness, including accurate time recording, billing, achievement of agreed targets and effective management of work in progress (WIP).

  • Contribute to business development initiatives to strengthen client relationships and support the continued growth of the team.

  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and expertise within property litigation.

  • Take ownership of your personal and professional development, continuously enhancing both technical and interpersonal skills.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with SRA standards and professional obligations.

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required by the business from time to time.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 1+ years' PQE in Property Litigation.

  • Experience managing a range of contentious property matters with appropriate supervision.

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand clients' business objectives.

  • Proven case management skills and the ability to deliver excellent client service.

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.

  • Strong IT skills, including experience with case management systems, electronic time recording and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Self-motivated, personable and professional, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A proactive approach to business development and networking.

  • Ability to consistently demonstrate the firm's values and contribute positively to team culture.
