Overview of the Residential Development Associate Solicitor role

We are currently recruiting for an ambitious Residential Development Associate Solicitor to join a highly regarded Residential Development team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work with some of the UK's leading national and regional housebuilders, developers and landowners on a broad range of high-profile residential development matters.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and well-established team offering excellent career development, high-quality work and the opportunity to build long-term expertise within residential development and land acquisition.

Key responsibilities of the Residential Development Associate Solicitor will include:

  • Advising on complex and large-scale land acquisitions across England and Wales
  • Drafting and negotiating development agreements, option agreements and conditional contracts
  • Advising on collaboration agreements and joint ventures between developers
  • Managing disposals of serviced land parcels
  • Supporting strategic land acquisitions and urban regeneration projects
  • Advising on funding arrangements relating to development sites
  • Working closely with planning, construction and litigation specialists to deliver a full service to clients
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients while delivering commercially focused legal advice

Required experience will include:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 3-5 years' post-qualification experience
  • Experience in commercial property or residential development matters
  • Previous experience acting for housebuilders or developers would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of land acquisition and development transactions
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness with a proactive and client-focused approach
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within residential development
