Social & Affordable Housing Associate (3+ PQE)

The Role

We are partnering with a prestigious national law firm-widely recognised as a market leader in the social and affordable housing space-to recruit experienced Associates (3+ PQE) for its expanding Housing Finance & Social Housing team.

About the Team

This award-winning Social & Affordable Housing group advises some of the most prominent organisations in the sector, including:

  • Housing associations & registered providers

  • Funders and banks

  • Investors and institutional stakeholders

The practice handles sophisticated, high-value mandates such as bond issues, private placements, bilateral/syndicated loans, sustainability-linked funding, and innovative financing structures.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on major transactions across the social and affordable housing sector.

  • Advise clients on bond issues, private placements, loan facilities and sustainable finance products.

  • Develop practical, commercially minded solutions tailored to each client's strategic priorities.

  • Work closely with colleagues across finance, real estate, regulatory, and corporate teams to deliver holistic advice.

  • Build long-term relationships with key clients and play an active role in the growth of the practice.

  • Mentor junior lawyers, supporting their development and contributing to a positive team culture.

  • Engage with formal training and development opportunities designed to accelerate your progression.

What We're Looking For

You will ideally bring:

  • 3+ years' PQE with a background in commercial property or social housing-related portfolio work.

  • Experience handling complex transactions and coordinating multi-disciplinary legal teams.

  • Strong client-facing skills and a genuine interest in business development.

  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to a supportive team environment.

  • Strong academic credentials and robust commercial awareness.

  • Excellent organisational skills, able to handle multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
