An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Managing Associate (5+ years' PQE) to join a growing Social, Sustainable & Green Finance team. This role offers the chance to work on innovative and high-profile finance transactions that support ESG objectives, sustainability-linked funding, and responsible investment, while developing your expertise within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and support a wide range of sustainable finance transactions, including:

  • Sustainability-linked loans, green bonds, and social impact funding structures.

  • Advising lenders, borrowers, and investors on ESG frameworks, regulatory developments, and reporting obligations.

  • Drafting and negotiating finance documentation aligned with sustainability standards, taxonomies, and disclosure requirements.

  • Supporting clients to integrate ESG criteria into financial and governance structures.

  • Collaborating with colleagues across finance, regulatory, and corporate disciplines while taking increasing responsibility for your own matters.

  • Supervising and mentoring junior associates and trainees, contributing to knowledge sharing and team development.

  • Supporting business development and thought leadership through client engagement, presentations, and market insights.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years' PQE in banking, finance, or capital markets, with exposure to or strong interest in sustainable or ESG-linked finance.

  • Strong technical expertise with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to deliver clear, commercially focused advice on complex legal and regulatory issues.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to supervise, mentor, and support junior team members.

  • Enthusiasm for innovation, sustainability, and contributing to the growth of a developing practice area.
