Our commitment to
Corporate Social Responsibility

Our CSR initiatives

At Sellick Partnership, we take a proactive approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the recruitment industry. Our CSR initiatives span employee wellbeing, community engagement, environmental sustainability, and support for local businesses.

From volunteering and fundraising to apprenticeship levy donations and green initiatives, we are committed to making a positive social impact while delivering expert recruitment services across the UK.

Our commitment to Social Value

We are committed to supporting our local communities through improving employability skills and reducing worklessness through the delivery of employability workshops. We work with our clients and partners to deliver these workshops to their service users or students across organisations including Universities, Colleges, Housing Associations and Professional membership bodies.

Below are some recent examples of employability workshops we have delivered across the UK. If you are interested in partnering with us, please contact us today.

  • Two days of employability workshops delivered to undergraduates at an East Midlands based university.
  • Two days of employability workshops delivered to over 100 students at a North East college.
  • Half a day employability workshop delivered to tenants of Karbon Homes and Job Centre staff.
  • Half a day career workshops delivered in partnership with HfMA to 14 delegates working within the NHS to support career progression.

Supporting skills and opportunities through The Apprenticeship Levy

As a socially responsible recruitment partner, we are pleased to be able to support local businesses within our wider communities through the donation of our apprenticeship levy, offering the opportunity for small businesses and start-ups to fund their own apprenticeships.

The Apprenticeship Levy provides individuals with access to training, offering a pathway to long-term employment, career progression, and personal development.

We are delighted to have made our first successful donation to a nursery in London, funding two apprenticeships, and have plans in place to offer support to further organisations this year.

If you would like to discuss the opportunity for us to support an apprenticeship please reach out to our CSR committee.

Discover more about our carbon footprint efforts

At Sellick Partnership, we are committed to sustainability and responsible business practices. Over the past 12 months, we have dedicated significant effort to conducting a thorough review of our carbon footprint, in collaboration with our parent company, Samsic. This review has provided us with valuable insights into the environmental impact of our operations and has laid the groundwork for identifying key areas where we can reduce emissions and improve sustainability practices. By taking these important steps, we aim to not only enhance our environmental performance but also lead by example in fostering a more sustainable future for our employees, clients, and communities.

In September 2024, we participated in Sustainability Week as part of Samsic's wider initiative and employees across each of our offices got involved in:

  • A meat-free lunch day, promoting healthier, more sustainable eating habits.
  • Clothes swap which was a huge success, encouraging reuse and reducing waste in style.
  • 10K steps challenge to increase our steps, getting more active while lowering our carbon footprint.
  • And to top it all off, we held a biodiverse photo competition, celebrating nature and our local environments.

Discover more about our volunteering opportunities

Corporate volunteering not only helps address community needs but also fosters a sense of teamwork and corporate social responsibility among employees. We recognise this, and as part of our wider CSR strategy, we actively encourage our employees to get involved in our ‘paid time off for charitable commitments’ where each member of the business is given a day of annual leave to support a charity or cause of their choice. Members of our team across the business volunteered 90 hours in 2023, and almost tripled this in 2024, having volunteered 241 hours which included (but weren't limited to):

  • Organising our annual Manchester Professional's Football League
  • Hosting our annual Midlands Charity Football Tournament
  • Wood Street Mission - for their Family Basics campaign
  • Wood Street Mission - for their Books Forever campaign
  • Wood Street Mission - for their Christmas appeal
  • Northampton University employability workshop
  • Adullam Homes employability workshop
  • Carols by Candlelight concert with Henshaws
