Like all businesses, Sellick Partnership has a vision, mission statement and core values that are integral to the working culture of our organisation. These are values that we as employees, embrace on a day-to-day basis in our professional lives.
Having a vision is vital to keep a business striving for a common goal, and serves as constant reminder of what we’re trying to achieve, bonding our individual actions together. A vision should provide the foundation for all business decisions and without one, a company is like a ship without a rudder and in danger of coasting aimlessly.
Our internal vision, “Shining a light on the future of our people” focuses on ensuring we are closely listening and working with our employees to ensure we are aligned with their aspirations, motivations and achievements.
Our mission statement is split into three sections:
- “We are purpose driven – being the best, all the time.” As a business we want to ensure that our employees have a purpose and are fully aware of their contribution to the business. Every staff member within the company has a role to play in achieving our stated aim of “being the best – all the time”.
- “We are performance driven – pushing the boundaries, every time.” Being the best requires the highest level of performance – with every member of the team delivering their highest standard of work every day. How can this be achieved? By working to our targets and providing consistent and excellent customer service both internally and externally.
- “We are principles led – making a difference, time after time”. We are a values-led organisation and are committed to the most ethical standards of practice, developing our employees through support, coaching and mentoring each individual to bring the best out of them. We have a very honest and open approach in all of our conversations – success is determined by the quality of the conversations that we have upwards, downwards and across the company as a whole.
Our values, passionate, respected and engaging, are embedded in every part of our business, from the service we provide to our candidates and clients, to the way in which we treat our colleagues. We value people that are passionate about their work and about doing the very best job, whilst understanding the importance of treating all people with dignity and respect. We are committed to engaging with all of our stakeholders, working alongside them to meet and exceed expectations.
Our internal hiring process is very much based on our values, and we have a rigorous interview process to ensure that we are recruiting likeminded people, with values that are aligned with the organisation. The accolades we have achieved over the last few years, including Great Places to Work and Investors in People, demonstrate the commitment we have to our people.
When a business has a clear vision, mission and values, it goes a long way to ensuring that its staff are aligned with the common goal. So, how can you take this into your day to day role? By asking yourself the following questions throughout the day – “Am I doing what I am currently doing to the very best of my ability?”, “Is this the best that I can do”? If not, why not? What could you have done better and if so, what could you have done differently?
