I am pleased to announce that we are holding our sixth charity football tournament, in aid of Midlands' own award-winning charity, The Maria Hanson Foundation. The charity organises holidays and trips away for the seriously or terminally ill, in order to give both the afflicted and their family much needed respite. More information can be found at www.mariahansonfoundation.org.uk.
We would love for you to be involved in the tournament, where we aim to improve on the 25 teams we have consistently hosted, who are all in hot pursuit of our prized trophies! The event consistently proves to be popular with regional business, public sector organisations and professional service practices who have shown their unwavering support for such a great cause time and again!
Our tournament consists of a group stage, with subsequent knock out stages for our two prizes, the Cup and the Plate. The top teams in the different groups play for the Cup in subsequent knock out stages, whilst the lower placed teams battle it out for the Plate, ensuring everybody goes home having had their run around and egos bruised or bolstered!
This year’s event will be held on the 21st October 2016 on a Friday at the impressive facilities at Derby’s Power League Soccerdome which is in close proximity to the football stadium in Pride Park. You will need seven players, but this can be assembled from friends of the business too. There will be a small entry cost of £120 and a raffle, where the proceeds generated will go a long way in temporarily improving the lives of those going through an exceptionally difficult time.
