Tim joined the Finance & Accountancy team in Derby back in February 2023 as a Resourcing Consultant and was promoted in February 2024 to Recruitment Consultant. Soon after joining, Tim became a key player in his field, grasping the market (which he had no prior knowledge of) in remarkable fashion.

How did you become interested in recruitment?

I became interested after speaking to a close friend who was also pursuing a career in recruitment. They told me about the benefits and how much they enjoyed the role which definitely piqued my interest. 

What was it about Sellick Partnership that convinced you to take a role here?

The main thing was the career growth and progress you can make here. In addition, during conversations with employees, I got the impression that the staff had all been here for a long time, retention was strong - there had to be a reason for this. 

What are the best aspects of your role?  

Helping people achieve their next career move and assisting them to make significant progress - even finding them their dream job.

Do you remember placing your first candidate and how did that feel?

I felt accomplished, but at the same time it also made me motivated for the next one. 

What’s your biggest achievement to date in your role as a Recruitment Consultant?

My biggest achievement would be my first commission payment, it makes you feel like all the hard work is worth it.
