Construction Solicitor

Sellick Partnership is working with a well-established and highly respected law firm in Manchester, seeking a Junior Construction Solicitor to join their expanding construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or early-career solicitor to develop a career in construction law, working closely with leading lawyers on a variety of high-quality matters across both contentious and non-contentious work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting on a broad range of construction matters, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating building contracts, appointments, and collateral warranties

  • Advising on standard form contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.)

  • Supporting on disputes, adjudications, and litigation matters

  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal advice

  • Assisting with client meetings, correspondence, and ongoing case management

• Working closely with senior team members on complex, high-value projects

• Building strong client relationships and providing commercially sound advice

• Supporting business development and networking efforts

About You:

• Qualified Solicitor (0-3 years' PQE) or due to qualify with strong construction experience during training

• Exposure to construction law (contentious and/or non-contentious) is desirable

• Excellent drafting and analytical skills

• A strong interest in developing a specialism in construction law

• Commercially aware with a proactive, professional approach

• A team player with excellent communication and client-care skills
