Sellick Partnership is proud to be partnering with one of our longstanding public sector clients in the Southwest, to support the recruitment of 3 Finance Analysts on an interim basis.

Experience in the Higher Education sector is highly desirable.

Start date: February 2026

Duration: 4 months

Rate: up to £290 per day (umbrella)

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake financial assessments as set out in the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 (HERA)
  • Produce reliable assessments of organisation's financial health
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure that there is a consistent understanding of the organisation's approach to financial assessment and regulation

Key requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant with current full membership
  • Extensive experience and expertise in financial analysis, ideally in the Higher Education sector
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting financial statements
  • Experience of using financial indicators to form judgements on organisation's financial viability and sustainability
  • Ability to understand, interpret and identify risks in financial performance in diverse types of organisations, and form judgements on the credibility of forecasting and scenario planning
  • Ability to reach reliable and supportable judgments based on complex and imperfect information
  • Communicate complex financial issues effectively to non-accountants, mainly in writing, but also orally
  • Manage own workload, coping with changing priorities

The role is available on a predominantly remote basis.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong experience in the required criteria, as this is a fast-paced role in a highly complex and sensitive environment, working on an autonomous basis.
