Role: HR Business Partner
Type: Interim - 5 months contract
Salary: Up to £550 per day
Hybrid or Remote: Hybrid (1-2 days in the office)

Sellick Partnership is partnering with a local authority in Swindon to recruit an HR Business Partner on an interim basis.

The Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner will include:

  • Supporting delivery of the council's people strategy.
  • Acting as a strategic HR and organisational development advisor to senior leaders across complex HR issues.
  • Leading organisational design, workforce planning, and change management programmes.
  • Collaborating on talent, succession planning, and leadership development strategies.
  • Championing culture and engagement initiatives to embed a values-driven, high-performance culture.
  • Providing coaching, guidance, and risk-based advice to senior managers.
  • Driving performance management and capability building across teams.
  • Commissioning and interpreting HR analytics to inform evidence-based decisions.
  • Ensuring HR policy, practice, and procedures are consistently applied.
  • Building positive relationships with stakeholders, trade unions, and external partners.
  • Deputising for the Head of HR Operations as required and contributing to succession planning within the HR Operations team.

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

  • Proven experience as a senior HR/OD advisor or HR Business Partner in local government or a complex public sector environment.
  • Strong expertise in organisational design, change management, and workforce planning.
  • Experience with talent management, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and risk management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to use HR systems, digital solutions, and data-driven insights to inform strategy.
  • A collaborative, visible, and inspiring leadership style aligned with organisational values.
