Legal Counsel

Location: South East England

Salary: £47,389 to £56,535

Contract: Permanent- Full-time

Working arrangement: Hybrid

Sellick Partnership are pleased to be working with one of our highly regarded higher education institutions to recruit a motivated individual to join their team as a Legal Counsel. The candidate would be joining a friendly team on a hybrid basis with their office located in the South East of England.

Key responsibilities of the Legal Counsel:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of legal agreements- including goods and services, consultancy, research funding, academic collaborations, validations, distance learning, and data sharing
  • Advising and supporting on disputes and contentious matters
  • Supporting procurement processes, ensuring legal compliance
  • Advising on student appeals and complaints from a legal perspective
  • Give guidance on intellectual property issues

Key competencies of the Legal Counsel:

  • A strong, driven individual to work collaboratively with the team and wider stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills for contract, report and letter writing and communicating with stakeholders
  • Able to adapt to the provision of legal advice and services according to client needs

Key requirements for the Legal Counsel:

  • A qualified solicitor or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years' post qualification experience in a legal role
  • Competency in core IT applications; including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
