NQ Clinical Negligence Lawyer

Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a well-established and growing firm seeking a Newly Qualified Clinical Negligence Lawyer to join their respected team in Colchester.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious junior lawyer to work closely with specialists in a highly regarded Clinical Negligence team, handling a broad spectrum of claims and making a real difference to people's lives.

Role Overview:

• Taking responsibility for a caseload of diverse clinical negligence matters under supervision.

• Working on claims relating to medical misdiagnosis, surgical mistakes, birth injuries, mental health care failings, cosmetic and dental negligence, and incorrect prescriptions.

• Managing cases at various stages, including pre-action and litigation phases.

• Drafting legal documentation, engaging with medical experts, and preparing detailed case analysis.

• Supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value claims.

• Handling client communications with empathy, professionalism, and clarity.

• Playing a key role in delivering excellent client service across the department.

About You:

• NQ lawyer (or due to qualify soon), with a strong interest in claimant clinical negligence.

• A training seat or experience in either clinical negligence or serious personal injury is desirable.

• A client-focused, compassionate approach with a strong sense of justice.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A well-organised team player who thrives under pressure and can manage sensitive issues with care.
