Sellick Partnership Recruitment Services is currently seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support our client based in North London permanently. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation who are a growing provider of emergency and nightly-let accommodation services for local councils and the Home Office in the area.

This role is a full-time position that requires the successful candidate to be in the office 5 days a week.

Main Duties of the Procurement Officer:

  • To provide procurement and contracting advice throughout the whole contracting process, working closely with the directors on complex procurements
  • Evaluate procurement templates, procurement timetables, and the provision of procurement documentation
  • To provide practical support in identifying the most suitable routes to market, including framework agreements
  • To support all staff with all procurement-related reporting, including contract variations, exemptions, and award reports
  • Be accountable for setting up projects, posting adverts, uploading tender documents, processing, attaching, and assigning copies of reports and contracts
  • Carrying out credit checks on potential suppliers; liaising with finance and legal on any identified risks before rewarding
  • Manage the organisational contract register to ensure it is complete and up to date
  • Work with collaborating partners.

Our client is looking for a motivated, ambitious, and experienced professional with relevant skills and experience to support the team.

Key Skills and Experience of the Procurement Officer:

  • Must have experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing agreements and contract frameworks
  • CIPS Level 4 qualified or working towards
  • Public sector experience essential - ideally local government or housing association
  • Some experience in procuring contracts under EU and UK public contracts legislation
  • Must be able to work in an office environment
  • A 'can do' attitude to getting things done that supports a teamwork approach
  • Manage workloads within tight timescales.
