Public Law/Inquiry Lawyer
Pay Rate: £247.31 per day + £25.00 per day in holiday pay (£64,300 annual equivalent).
Location: Multiple locations
Contract
5 days in the office per week
Clearance Level: SC Clearance
We are seeking G7-level lawyers to support the Undercover Policing Inquiry. The post-holder is likely to spend a significant amount of their time working on investigation files relating to individual core participants.
The post-holders will be expected to:
* handle complex, multi-disciplinary, professional, multi-strand legal or investigative environments; manage and/or contribute to the formulation of investigative practices or legal policies;
* handle complex, large-scale projects, including involvement in delivery of large scale disclosure/eDisclosure/document production/information management exercises; which requires a degree of IT capability.
* plan, define and implement strategies to support delivery;
* lead, motivate, develop and inspire to encourage a cohesive and professional working environment with a view to a common objective;
* manage document-heavy review processes to identify key relevant material, including establishing defined programmes of work and monitoring delivery;
* give clear and detailed instructions to witnesses in order to ensure delivery of high quality evidence;
* manage and co-ordinate hearings;
* demonstrate a high level of legal skill and judgment; and
* facilitate excellent stakeholder engagement, internal and external, including an ability to communicate confidently and sensitively with those who may be unfamiliar with legal processes.
