An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate Employment Solicitor to join a highly regarded Employment, Pensions and Immigration team based in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to work within a nationally recognised team, in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment focused on high-quality client service, professional development, and growth.

The Role

This is a varied and stimulating role advising a wide range of employer clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. The team supports clients across multiple key sectors including health and care (private and NHS), higher education, automotive, manufacturing, and retail.

You will take a lead on employment law matters, working closely with senior colleagues, clients, and junior lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading on Employment Tribunal claims and complex advisory matters

  • Managing your own caseload and client relationships

  • Advising on a wide range of employment issues for clients across commercial and regulated sectors

  • Supporting and supervising junior team members

  • Participating in business development, marketing and client training initiatives

  • Ensuring high standards of client service, documentation, and compliance

  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider Employment, Pensions and Immigration team

About You:

  • A qualified solicitor with 4+ years' PQE in employment law

  • Experienced in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters

  • Organised and self-motivated, with excellent time and document management skills

  • A team player with strong communication, drafting, and interpersonal skills

  • Confident in managing clients and supervising junior colleagues

  • Commercially aware and proactive in supporting business development

Desirable:

  • Experience advising clients in regulated sectors

  • Previous exposure to large employers and/or advocacy work

  • Interest in developing and delivering client training
