Technical Accounting Manager

Sellick Partnership are recruiting a Technical Accountant Manager for a fast growth insurance company, who are going through a significant transformation.

The Technical Accounting Manager will lead on development of accounting policy framework, be a key advisor on technical change and work closely with senior leadership to enable change and transformation projects.

This role will provide high visibility and an opportunity for a solutions led individual to add real value and be a key player in the organisations growth trajectory.

The Role - Technical Accounting Manager

• Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant technical and regulatory requirements and
• accounting standards and rules including Solvency II, UK GAAP financial reporting and taxation.
• Produce and maintain the Group's accounting policies manual to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Lead on Technical advisory
• Technical Audit liaison and compliance for year end
• Maintain documentation which supports financial reporting policies and procedures, including those relating to financial reporting control standards.
• Ensure year end process are complaint with appropriate accounting legislation
• Partner Head of Reporting to ensure all documentation is in place
• Strong up to date knowledge of IFRS and relevant accounting treatments
• Prepare technical accounting papers for technical & board committees
• Lead of any technical change and process improvement projects

The Technical Accounting Manager will have previous experience with an insurance business and be either ACA or ACCA trained, with a strong technical knowledge of insurance, accounting treatment and process.

You will have knowledge around reinsurance, quota share, solvency II etc and be confident leading discussions with senior leaders, actuaries and auditors to uphold the reasoning behind accounting and reporting treatment choices.
