Supporting our community
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fundraising and initiatives stem naturally from our core values – and we are passionate about how our business can make a real, positive difference to the community and businesses around us.
Since our formation in 2002 we have worked with local and national charities, raising funds and supporting causes very close to our heart. As a business we are fully aware of the benefits that come with a well planned and executed CSR strategy, but we also want to show that we genuinely care about helping people – and we want our initiatives to demonstrate this.
We help people find their dream career every day, but also recognise that it is equally as important to help others and support the communities where we work. We feel a great sense of pride when our people come together and help us celebrate and support worthwhile causes throughout the UK.
To drive our CSR efforts forward, our team of Charity Champions have devised several key strategic objectives to guide us toward our goals. These include:
- Strengthen and build relationships with our corporate charity partners through fundraising and donation opportunities to support the local communities we work in.
- Increase volunteering opportunities by making them more accessible to everybody in the business. This will have a positive social impact whilst also complementing our social value requirements for tenders and proposals.
- Review and develop our environmental initiatives, recognising that this is crucial to society and becoming increasingly important when bidding for new business.
- Support our local communities through improving workplace skills, and reducing unemployment through the delivery of employability workshops.
Additionally, each year we actively encourage our employees to get involved in our ‘paid time off for charitable commitments’ where each member of the business is given a day of annual leave to support a charity or cause of their choice.

Our commitment to Social Value
We are committed to supporting our local communities through improving employability skills and reducing worklessness through the delivery of employability workshops. We work with our clients and partners to deliver these workshops to their service users or students across organisations including Universities, Colleges, Housing Associations and Professional membership bodies.
Below are some recent examples of employability workshops we have delivered across the UK. If you are interested in partnering with us, please contact us today.
- Two days of employability workshops delivered to undergraduates at an East Midlands based university.
- Two days of employability workshops delivered to over 100 students at a North East college.
- Half a day employability workshop delivered to tenants of Karbon Homes and Job Centre staff.
- Half a day career workshops delivered in partnership with HfMA to 14 delegates working within the NHS to support career progression.
- Half a day employability workshop delivered to undergraduates at a Manchester Metropolitan University.
Our charitable activities
From bake sales, to sporting leagues, awards ceremonies and book collections, here is a flavour of the things we have set up as a business:
Euros sweepstake 2024
To celebrate the Euros 2024 in true style, our offices ran our very own charity sweepstakes - our Derby office took it a step further by getting dressed up and even held their own team lunch!
Yorkshire 3 Peaks
In July 2024, employees from across our offices took part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, kindly organised by Henshaws which resulted in them raising a fantastic £2,884 for the charity!
Charity Netball Tournament
In July 2024, Group Director Laura Hayward participated in a charity netball tournament. The event collectively raised a fantastic £1,500 with all proceeds donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.
Henshaws Charity Ball
In June 2024, our Manchester office attended the annual Henshaw's Summer Charity Ball, kindly sponsored by British Airways by taking a table of 10 to support our fantastic chosen charity!
AJ Half Marathon
In May 2024, our very own Max Taylor participated in the AJ Bell Half Marathon! Through his fundraising, he managed to raise an incredible £875 for Alzheimers Society, a charity close to his heart.
Volunteering at Little Hulton
In May 2024 Rayhaneh and Kate from our Manchester office volunteered with Wood Street Mission at their Little Hulton site - assisting families living on a low income with day-to-day necessities.
Charity Skydive
In April 2024, some very brave employees from across each of our offices took part in a charity skydive, raising an incredible amount of £5,524 for their various chosen charities.
Sales training
In March 2024, Group Director Ray Wareing volunteered a morning of his time to train the fundraising teams at St Ann's Hospice and Henshaws on sales/fundraising tactics.
Easter egg collection
In March 2024, we held an Easter Egg collection. We donated over 120 eggs in total to St Ann's Hospice, Leeds Children's Charity and a local foodbank in Liverpool.
World Water Day
In line with our CSR initiatives/awareness, we wanted to acknowledge World Water Day, so this year, all employees received a 4.5 minute shower timer to help them to be more aware of their water usage!
Books Forever Appeal
In March 2024, our Manchester office held a book collection in aid of Wood Street Mission for their Books Forever appeal. We donated over 100+ books for this fantastic cause.
Books & Bakes
In March 2024 our Manchester office held a 'Books & Bakes' activity - where people brought books in and baked yummy treats. Off the back of this event, we raised £58.60 for Wood Street Mission!
EOFYA 2024
In March 2024, we held our annual End of Financial Year Awards - we encourage all employees to donate whatever they would usually spend on lunch to charity. We raised a fantastic £478.50 for Mind.
Wood Street Mission volunteering
In March 2024, Jennifer McPhail spent the morning volunteering with the Wood Street Mission team, sorting through donations such as clothes, books, toys and stationery.
One-pot lunch
In February 2024, we held a Valentine's one-pot lunch in our Manchester office with everybody paying a £5 donation - we raised a fantastic £125 for Wood Street Mission!
MPFL 2024
Our annual Manchester Professionals' Football League took place across January/February 2024 for the 14th year - all profits from the league have been donated to St Ann's Hospice.

Corporate volunteering not only helps address community needs but also fosters a sense of teamwork and corporate social responsibility among employees. We recognise this, and as part of our wider CSR strategy, we actively encourage our employees to get involved in our ‘paid time off for charitable commitments’ where each member of the business is given a day of annual leave to support a charity or cause of their choice.
Members of our team across the business volunteered 90 hours in 2023, and are set to surpass this total, having volunteered 88 hours so far in 2024 and an additional 74 hours in the pipeline for Q3 and Q4 2024 which all include (but aren't limited to:
- Organising our annual Manchester Professional's Football League
- Wood Street Mission - for their Family Basics campaign
- Wood Street Mission - for their Books Forever campaign
- Northampton University employability workshop
- Adullam Homes employability workshop

Wood Street Mission have worked with Sellick Partnership for several years now, and together we have built a fantastic partnership. The team get involved throughout the year supporting our appeals and initiatives, developing creative fundraising ideas to engage their staff in our cause, which results in much-needed donations for local children affected by poverty, such as Christmas toys, brand new books and back-to-school essentials. They also support us by attending our events and championing our projects on social media, helping us to raise awareness in our community. Volunteering is another way that Sellick Partnership have provided invaluable support to Wood Street Mission, from sorting through clothing donations, to supporting our families face-to-face, or helping to distribute our annual newsletter – no task is ever too much, and the team are a pleasure to work with! Henshaws are absolutely delighted to announce our new association with Sellick Partnership. In the time we have collaborated with them they have volunteered at our Carols by Candlelight, a member of the Sellick Partnership team will be participating in a charity sky-dive in aid of Henshaws, and they have also signed up to participate in our main challenge ‘Yorkshire 3 peaks’ which is a fantastic opportunity for teambuilding. Henshaws mission is to ensure every blind and visually impaired person receives the help and support they need right from the moment of diagnosis, to live the life they want, and with the incredible support from Sellick Partnership they are helping that to happen for individuals of any age across Greater Manchester. We want to pass our sincere thanks over to Sellick Partnership. Henshaws is extremely excited for what the future holds with our partnership.
St Ann’s Hospice have been in partnership with Sellick for 19 years during which over £90,000 has been raised from events including the Manchester Professionals Cricket League and The Manchester Professionals Football League. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of Sellick Partnership which has enabled us to care and support individuals living with life Limiting illnesses in greater Manchester. Recent donation have been in support of the New Hospice that will open in 2025 and we look forward to having their name on our wall as one of our funding partners for the development. Beyond the vital funds raised the team at Sellick are an absolute pleasure to work with and always keen to help be that with collecting Easter Eggs, bottles for the drinks trolley and more recently through active participation on our fundraising board and support with training for the fundraising team.

Charities we support
Since first establishing, giving back to the community has always been a priority for us. We work with a range of regional and national charities across the UK, and we encourage all of our staff to get involved as much as possible.
Community sports
