Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

At Sellick Partnership we value the unique differences of our colleagues, candidates and clients that contribute to our company and work hard to create and maintain a culture that is respectful, accessible and forward thinking.  Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) in the workplace is a widely debated topic. As a responsible recruitment partner, we firmly believe all businesses, regardless of their size or the sector in which they work, should be able to demonstrate their commitment to EDI and talk openly and honestly about what they are doing to support their employees.

As part of our EDI Commitments, we are proud to be an APSCo Member Committed to Diversity, which means we have successfully demonstrated our commitment to encouraging diversity in recruitment. APSCo’s Diversity Commitment is a public promise by its members to take measurable steps to improve diversity within their organisation and within the recruitment industry.

Cultivating an inclusive environment has always been a priority for the Board of Directors here at Sellick Partnership. Our vision to “shine a light on the future of our people” was devised by our board members and is reflective of our commitment to truly recognise and encourage individuality.

Our commitment to diversity doesn’t just end with our internal culture and employees. We work closely with our clients to ensure diversity is at the forefront of our recruitment approach. I’ve personally been involved in positive action programmes including a variety of different workshops and sessions. My most recent was working alongside Ranjit Sond, the President of Society of Asian Lawyers which consisted of an hour long session focusing on potential career options for law students, followed by a Q&A.

Our Diversity Champions are empowered by myself and the board to make changes, improvements and suggestions on ways that we can improve and be more inclusive. We are continually challenging ourselves, whether that’s through internal review or joining charters such as the Race Fairness Commitment. If you’d like to discuss our inclusion initiatives further then do not hesitate to get in touch with myself or a member of our team to see how we can work together.

- Hannah Cottam, Director

Our dedicated Diversity Champions have achieved, and committed to, a number of other awards and accreditations that acknowledge out service, internal processes and our commitment to our employees, candidates and clients which include:

Disability Confident Committed (Level 1)

Sellick Partnership is a Disability Confident Committed (Level 1) employer! We are proud to support this movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.

Race at Work Charter

Sellick Partnership is now a signatory of the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter. We know that underrepresented groups still face significant disparities in employment and progression, and that is something we need to change. The Charter is composed of five calls to action for leaders and organisations across all sectors. Signing up means taking practical steps to ensure their workplaces are tackling barriers that underrepresented individuals face in recruitment and progression, and that their organisations are representative of British society today.

Race Fairness Commitment

In July 2020, the Race Fairness Commitment was launched and now has over 40 signatories, including ourselves. As a responsible recruitment provider, we understand that we have a vital role in ensuring equal access to opportunities for all candidates. We are delighted to support this Commitment which strives to achieve fairness at work for people of all ethnic backgrounds.

We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and always strive to go above and beyond when it comes to our clients and candidates. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances, including the underrepresented and those with disabilities. We consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
