Employment Locum (respondent work only) - Maternity Cover

We have an opportunity for an Employment Solicitor to join a firm in Merseyside for a long term maternity cover starting from the end of July.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise employer clients on employment law and workplace issues

• Prepare legal documents, contracts, and responses to employment claims

• Represent employers in employment tribunals and hearings

• Handle settlement discussions and ACAS negotiations

• Manage tribunal cases from start to finish

• Draft and review HR policies, contracts, and procedures

• Support clients with dismissals, grievances, and disciplinary matters

• Keep up to date with employment law changes and advise clients accordingly

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and tribunal procedures

• Experience advising employers/respondents in employment matters

• Confident handling Employment Tribunal cases and drafting legal documents

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines

• Experience negotiating settlements and working with ACAS

• Proactive, client-focused, and able to work independently or in a team
