Are you an Administrator/Assistant Officer with experience in Social Housing? Sellick Partnership is assisting with the recruitment of a Housing Assistant to work within a Housing Association in Birmingham on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. The role is to provide an efficient and effective high quality reception/income/administrative service whilst delivering high levels of customer services.

Housing Assistant (Income)
6 Month FTC

Birmingham, Hybrid - 1 day a week in the office

£32,206 per annum pro rata

35 Hours a week

As the Housing Income Assistant you will be required to carry out varied duties including:

  • Cover all aspects of payments including direct debits, benefits and other payments into the business in relation to rents and service charges.
  • Management and administration of tenants direct debits, housing benefits entitlements & contributions, rent transfers, queries, refunds, tenancy set up/amendments, former tenants arrears and overpayments, universal credit portal, legal administration support, raising of sublet invoices.
  • Provide an initial income advice service to customers in housing need and those with a related enquiry, establish needs and sign post for further assistance as appropriate
  • Assist with reception cover
  • Deal with telephone and face-to-face income/rent arrears enquiries

Required skills and experience of the Housing Income Assistant

  • Generic administration office tasks such as typing and telephone communication
  • Housing knowledge, specifically Universal Credit and Benefits
  • Good IT knowledge
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in an admin role
