£50-60,000 per annum (higher salaries will be considered for the right candidate)

Legal Counsel is required to join a sister company of an insurtech business that focuses on personal lines. This business prides itself on it's cutting edge technology and high standards of customer care.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Head of Legal Services and act as second in command to the wider group, supervise and monitor external solicitors. Candidates will have a strong background in litigation and a willingness to undertake commercial work and other areas as required.

As the Legal Counsel, you will;

  • Undertake litigation of claims brought to the business and the wider group which can include property damage claims and PI, large loss or complex claims
  • Oversee the management and audit of bringing new clients on board and managing external solicitors with outsourced legal work and working with external solicitors on various matters
  • Project work will include undertaking a review of existing contracts, contract renewal and onboarding of new suppliers and services if required
  • Drafting Policy wordings and providing policy advice on personal lines policies

As the Legal Counsel you will have;

  • Have ideally 5 years practical experience working in-house or private practice ideally within an insurance environment (Qualified or route to qualify)
  • Experience of conducting high value litigation claims brought against the wider group (excluding insurance claims)
  • Have experience in large or complex losses
  • An ability to adapt and learn quickly in new areas of law
