Celebrating 11 years of the Manchester Professionals’ Cricket League (MPCL)
I am delighted to welcome you to the 11th Manchester Professionals’ Cricket League (MPCL) in aid of St Ann’s Hospice and the Lord’s Taverners.
Over the last ten years we have managed to raise tens of thousands of pounds for the charities close to our heart – St Ann’s Hospice and the Lord’s Taverners. This is an incredible achievement that would not have been possible without your continued support.
As always, we feel that it is vital to revisit the objectives that we set when we launched the MPCL and I am delighted to confirm that we have managed to meet them so far including:
- Promoting cricket as a sport.
- Providing a platform for networking across the Greater Manchester business community.
- Raising funds for the important work our chosen charities do.
We are looking forward to great sportsmanship and comradery amongst teams on the pitch again this year. I would like to say a huge thanks to all the new and returning teams who have committed to participating once again - your support of the MPCL and ongoing contributions to these special charities really does make a huge difference.
To quote one of the world's greatest all-rounders, Ian Botham:
To me, it doesn’t matter how good you are. Sport is all about playing and competing. Whatever you do in cricket and in sport, enjoy it, be positive and try to win.
As ever, I wish you all an extremely enjoyable tournament and thank you once again for your dedication and support.
