Compliance and Operations Officer is required to join a start-up digital marketing and lead generation business servicing clients within the legal sector. This business forms part of a wider group of companies and is heavily backed by investors, so it's an exciting time to join as the business is vastly expanding.

The business is currently in an exciting transformation phase as it registers for FCA authorisation as a limited scope business. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for executing the compliance infrastructure within the business through establishing and maintaining their compliance framework in line with FCA regulations whilst supporting operational project work.

About the Compliance and Operations Officer Role;

  • Report directly to the Finance Director, but work autonomously in the role
  • Lead the development and execution of the compliance framework once the FCA has approved
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations to include CONC, SYSC, PRIN, and SMCR
  • Maintain and update current policies and procedures whilst developing new ones as required
  • Delivering training across the business with regulatory requirements
  • Support and approve advertising and marketing content in line with regulatory requirements before launching
  • Implement processes to run and scale marketing campaigns efficiently and effectively whilst maintaining commerciality with compliance rules set internally and externally.
  • Documenting processes throughout the business that can be reported to investors.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure compliance frameworks are adhered to
  • Maintain risk and control registers, and monitor regulatory horizon scanning
  • The role will evolve into taking on Compliance Oversight function responsibilities as the business grows further

The Compliance and Operations Officer will have;

  • Experience with or understanding of SMCR (including potential to take on SMF29)
  • Strong Compliance and operational background, ideally with experience in a legal, digital marketing, or financial services background.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of SMCR, GDPR, PECR and ASA/CAP Code compliance
  • Familiarity with GDPR, PECR, and ASA/CAP Code compliance.
  • Experience using project management tools and managing workflows.
