Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Delivery Lead, join our public sector client on a fixed term contract of 12 months (until the end of July 2026). This role is offered on a hybrid basis with 1 day a week onsite.

Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Project Delivery Lead for the People Systems Project, this opportunity has come at a time when there is a large focus on ensuring that our people systems and data solutions meet the needs of the organisation and deliver value and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have excellent project/programme leadership experience, stakeholder and people management skills, whilst working in collaboration with project sponsors, business owners and the delivery team to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of this 2nd phase of the project.

The duties of the Senior Project Delivery Lead will include:

  • Leading the successful delivery of the People Systems Project (Phase 2), ensuring both workstreams (Systems, Automation & Innovation and Position Data & Establishment Control) are delivered on time, within scope and budget. Ensuring these are aligned with both people services and the broader organisational strategic objectives
  • Developing and maintaining the primary delivery plan for both workstreams, including detailed timelines and plans, milestones, resource planning, risk mitigation strategies and reporting mechanisms
  • Leading proactive stakeholder engagement, at a senior level across key functions. Including people services, digital systems, finance, and business units.
  • Working with the senior leaders in ensuring that the project objections are co-developed, understood and initiated in both the delivery expectation and the key institutional priorities
  • Collaborating closely with the Director of People Services Hub and the Director of Workforce Data, acting as the delivery lead for the phase 2 projects, ensuring consistent leadership, accountability, decision making and viability across the teams, leadership and wider organisation
  • Ensuring effective coordination with 3rd party suppliers and technical partners managing performance, expectations and contractual deliverables to enable a smooth and value-driven delivery
  • Supporting the decision-marking escalation management, progress and budget tracking and stakeholder communications
  • Supporting and leading cultural and behavioural changes as new ways of working, automation and data disciplines are embedded, ensuring buy- in, capability building and upheld across the people service function and wider organisation
  • Maintaining and oversight of the budget and resources in partnership with the Director of PS Hub and Finance colleagues, ensuring value for money and return on investment

The Senior Project Delivery Lead will ideally have:

  • Experience of delivering large scale change programmes in an HR environment
  • Clear understanding and knowledge of the opportunities and challenges on delivering large-scale system and data changes across the organisation
  • Stakeholder management across all levels
  • Experience in motivating and leading cross-functional delivery teams
  • Experience of using SuccessFactors would be beneficial
  • Experience within the public sector would be beneficial
