Training & development at Sellick Partnership
Our success fully depends on the quality and expertise of our people, which is why training and development is absolutely central to our business. Our training programme is tailored specifically to each individual. Training requirements are discussed on a monthly basis with your line manager, through regular performance reviews and your personal development plan (PDP). Several times a year, you will have the opportunity to discuss your training and development needs with your manager, in order to advance your career with maximum support.
Here at Sellick Partnership we offer training focused on your progression plans. We have tailored training groups that are specific to your current level in the business, as well as your ability and individual learning style, ensuring you can maximise your learning and share best practice with your peers.
Within the first few weeks of joining the company, you will follow a comprehensive induction programme, which is a mix of formal and informal training sessions with all departments to help you settle into your new role as quickly as possible. Following this, your training and development journey will be tailored to you personally.
- Internal and external training courses
We offer everybody in the business the opportunity to attend a number of internal and external training courses, and we are always open to suggestions for additional topics.
We work with a range of providers and suppliers and invest significantly in our training programme to ensure we offer the best training in the marketplace. Our training course topics range from technical and core recruitment skills to soft and personal skills development.
All employees are encouraged to attend training regularly to help develop their careers and achieve their personal and professional objectives.
As a business, we also recognise that you may want to study towards a professional qualification and we are able to assist with this where appropriate.
- Buddy system
We recently launched a formalised ‘buddying system’, after recognising that a number of colleagues across the business were connecting with each other to share best practice and ideas. Colleagues who are ‘buddying’ meet up once a quarter and discuss a range of work-related topics in order to share best practice and overcome any challenges. Employees are also encouraged to phone their ‘buddy’ on an ad-hoc basis if necessary to ask for help or advice. The aims of the system are as follows:
- To get to know colleagues on an individual basis who are specialising in similar markets and be able to share best practices across the business.
- To create cross-selling opportunities within organisations across the different sectors.
- To help embed new employees into the business.
- To share information, market knowledge, candidates and updates.
- To act as a general support and peer. A Buddy will be able to share experiences, processes and information across different sectors.
To date, the 'buddying system' has been a huge success and we actively encourage all employees to consider working with a 'buddy' regardless of their position within the business.
