We are currently working with a top-tier Legal 500 ranked firm in Reading that is looking for a talented Senior Employment Associate to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Employment law professional to join an expanding and supportive team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Offering everyday workplace advice and solutions to business clients.
Assisting employers in handling staff discipline cases and internal company procedures.
Advising on staff transfers during business sales, mergers, or when services are outsourced - including reviewing relevant documents.
Supporting employers with ending employment relationships, including negotiating exit deals and addressing tax matters and risk minimization.
Handling legal disputes involving unfair firings, contract breaches, and workplace discrimination based on gender, race, or disability.
Designing and delivering tailored training sessions and interactive learning experiences for employer organizations.
Potential to develop knowledge in areas such as employee immigration compliance and handling personal data correctly.
Representing clients in employment-related legal hearings and formal tribunal processes.
The successful candidate:
Confident managing legal disputes, including tribunal and appeal cases.
Skilled in supporting business deals by reviewing employment aspects like staff transfers (TUPE), contracts, and legal risks.
Excellent at writing legal documents and explaining the law in a clear, business-focused way.
Able to work independently on complex or high-profile cases.
Experience leading teams, mentoring junior staff, and overseeing their work.
Comfortable building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Able to spot business opportunities and promote the team's services and training.
Experience delivering training sessions and workshops to employers (a plus).
