Duration: 4 Months FTC (Hybrid 2 days on site)

Salary: Up to £350 UMB per day

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our client based in Reading. This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days a week required onsite.

The ideal Senior HR Advisor will support the HR Services Manager and work in partnership with the Strategic HR and OD Partners in the delivery of an HR Advisory service to operational managers within the framework of the HR and OD service plan and the People strategy.

The duties of the Senior HR Advisor include:

  • Using data-driven approaches to inform the management team on HR strategies and initiatives
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date employment advice
  • Analysing HR Metrics and trends, presenting these back to the senior management team
  • Providing advice to the senior manager up to and including directorate and the corporate management team
  • Assisting in the development and the implementation of corporate/directorate policy and procedures that align with the HR strategies including performance management and change
  • Providing extensive employment law and best practice advice to managers on a wide range of issues including employee relations, disputes, restructures, and redundancy
  • Maintaining positive employee relations through negotiation and consultation with trade unions
  • Contributing to the development of employee relations initiatives designed to strength employee engagement and commitment
  • Proactively identify and implement criteria for training and development

The Senior HR Advisor will ideally have:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or above
  • Extensive experience handling complex employee relation cases
  • Experience of trade union negotiations would be beneficial
  • Experience of analysing data metrics and presenting/reporting on findings
  • Experience within central or local government would be beneficial.

The Senior HR Advisor will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
