Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a permanent Management Accountant to join our client based on Pride Park Derby.

The role encompasses core management accounting duties, business partnering, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will report on KPIs across the organisations commercial departments and suggest drivers for improvements to the Head of Finance.

Key responsibilities for the Management Accountant:

  • Manage monthly management accounts for all departments
  • Production of P&Ls, variance analysis, and presentation of results to heads of budgets
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts
  • Taking an active lead in the annual budget process
  • Producing monthly forecasts, including projection of salaries, and undertaking analysis against the original budget
  • Being a key business partner for all heads of departments
  • Challenging business processes and spending requests from heads of departments
  • Overseeing the development of the Trainee Accountant and assisting them with processing purchase invoices, preparation of payment runs, purchase orders, credit card reconciliations and expenses
  • Preparation of P11Ds.
  • Responding to ad-hoc information requests from heads of departments
  • Prepare information for external auditors as part of the year-end audit

Personal characteristics and experience for the Management Accountant:

  • At least 3-5 years' experience of working in a similar role
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Preparation of budgets
  • Qualified is desirable but not essential
