Charity Champions

Meet our Charity Champions

As a responsible recruitment specialist, we are very aware of the communities in which we work and have always been committed to assisting when and where we can. By appointing a formal committee, we have been able to streamline our process and ensure the activities we are involved in have a positive impact across all of our regional offices.

Our Charity Champions are responsible for choosing our companywide and regional charities, organising fundraising activities, contributing to our sustainable development and deciding on what we should be focusing on as a business to ensure we are helping the maximum number of people and causes that we can.

"I am incredibly proud to be the Board sponsor of the Charity Champions here at Sellick Partnership. The most rewarding aspect for me is engaging the business in fundraising and charitable initiatives to contribute and make a difference with local and national charities. A crucial element of corporate social responsibility is facilitating employees to engage in the local community; employees want to give back and have the opportunity to do so. Our initiatives are very accessible to allow our employees to contribute in a way that best suits them! For instance bake sales, Easter egg donations, Christmas gifts as well as events like sponsored runs, football and cricket tournaments. As well as supporting national charities, I believe it is so, so important to partner with a local charity! Our Manchester office is partnering with Wood Street Mission this year; this has meant that together we have been able to plan our fundraising events for 2023 and really support their fantastic projects throughout."

"Since joining the business back in May 2018, I have always been inspired by how much Sellick Partnership is involved in the community and the initiatives that are in place to raise as many donations as possible for the chosen charities across each of our offices. I originally joined the business solely working on events and have worked/still work incredibly close with Ray Wareing and Nikki Kinsey on two of our highly established sporting tournaments, the MPFL and MCFT – which each raise incredible amounts for charities close to our hearts; and that Ray and Nikki are Board trustees for. As my role progressed, I began to get more and more involved in the charity fundraising for the business and I am now proud to be the lead of our Charity Champions. Giving back to the community has always been a passion of mine, and I’m very lucky to be able to champion this with the rest of the group to encourage and provide the wider business with further opportunity to do so."

"I am honoured to be a Charity Champion here at Sellick Partnership. It is really wonderful to see how much we contribute as a business and get involved in the activities that we organise, from bake sales to volunteering opportunities. Having recently volunteered with Wood Street Mission it has really opened my eyes to the results that can be achieved when people come together to make a real difference in our community. I think that it is hugely important to support charities because we can help those who are less fortunate."

"Growing up, I have always admired my mum for being heavily involved with charity – she volunteers one day per week for a local foundation who take young adults with disabilities/learning difficulties out on day trips and often talks of how rewarding her involvement is and how much of a positive impact that day out has for each member. Donations is what keeps charities like this going and being a part of the Charity Champions means that I can help Sellick Partnership make valuable contributions to both local and national charities working on a range of different causes."

“Having been heavily involved in charity fundraisers, I have seen the difference small amounts can make to people’s lives, and just how much it means to individuals. Working within public sector recruitment, I see just how much work they put into making a difference to people’s lives. Over the last few years, I have been particularly involved with charities which mean a lot to me and my family, as well as the charities we support at Sellick Partnership and I am now exciting to be a part of that as a Charity Champion.”

"As someone who has always supported charities, I was keen to become a Charity Champion here at Sellick Partnership to be able to make a difference to those who need it and to be part of a group that shares similar values. It is lovely to see what we can do collectively to make a positive impact! It is great to work for a company that has a charity committee as it allows me to further my charitable support and engage with the local community."

"As soon as there was an opening, I jumped at the chance of joining the Charity Champions here at Sellick. I’ve seen a lot of amazing work done by the team to give back and support those in need and am delighted to now be apart of that. Our Liverpool office supports two charities which are very close to my heart, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Sean’s Place. Having been treated by Alder Hey as a child, I know personally of the incredible work they do to give children the best chance of a full, healthy life. Sean’s Place provides support for men struggling with their mental health, offering a safe place for men to talk through their problems without judgement and socialise with others who are also struggling, to help them feel less isolated. Both charities go above and beyond helping those in their care and I’m keen to continue being proactive in supporting them, as well as the other amazing charities Sellick is partnered with across the country."

"Joining the Sellick Partnership Charity Committee was a no brainer. Sellick as an organisation support some incredible causes and for me personally, I think it really is super important to give back and support those who need it. Partnering with the Leeds Children Charity here at the Leeds office has been a heartwarming and fulfilling experience. The charity do some absolutely amazing work and to be able to see the difference that our support and contributions makes to the young children of Leeds is truly rewarding. I feel strongly that no child should be set at a disadvantage due to circumstances out of their control, and that every child deserves the right to be entitled to food, resources and fun experiences whilst also receiving the crucial support needed to reach their full potential. To be a part of supporting/providing this is so important to me and my team. "

As someone who has worked closely with housing associations and charities for more than 18 years, I’ve become really passionate to understanding how we can support them with more than just recruitment. I’ve been so inspired by how these organisations work tirelessly to make a difference to people’s lives. For this very reason I’ve worked with Sellick Partnership and various clients to identify how we can help and support them with these great causes. Over the years I have participated in fundraising events, volunteering opportunities and ran workshops to support vulnerable people with employability skills and gaining future employment. Each year, our Midlands Office hosts a Charity Football tournament in aid of me&dee. This exceptional charity aims to provide memory making experiences for adults and children facing life threatening, life shortening and terminal conditions. This fantastic event has raised considerable funds for me&dee over the years and I’m incredibly proud to be a part of it. As a charity champion I want to continue to shine a light on these incredible causes and identify new opportunities where we can give back as a business.
